Major Chains Give Away Free Donuts this Friday

Submitted by Malcolm on June 3, 2009 – 4:03 pmOne Comment

krispy_kreme_glazed_doughnutIn honor of National Donut Day (which happens on the first Friday of every June…who knew?), both Dunkin’ Donuts AND Krispy Kreme will be giving away free donuts. At the D, you get a free donut with the purchase of any beverage, and at Krispy Kreme, well, you just get a free donut, no purchase necessary.

Krispy Kreme executive chef Ron Rupocinski said the chain decided to offer the free doughnut as a way of “making life just a little sweeter.” Too bad there are nearly 9,000 Dunkin’ Donuts to Krispy Kreme’s paltry 500, systemwide.

Don’t forget to collect your free donut on Friday, and for bonus points, why not turn your free Krispy Kreme into the basis for the world’s most gut-wrenchingly delicious cheeseburger?
