The Most Glorious Soup in the Universe: Spiced Pumpkin & Pepper Chowder

Spiced Pumpkin & Pepper Chowder

Three fateful years ago, I opened up my October copy of Chatelaine (a Canadian women’s health & beauty magazine) and ritually flipped to the recipes section. Glowing out from the pages, like a beacon of delicousness, was a recipe for Spiced Pumpkin and Pepper Chowder. After just one glance, I knew I HAD to make it immediately.

And so I did.

It was simply amazing.

Mind-blowingly good, even.

I shared the recipe with my girlfriends, and several of them also ran out to try it. Every one of them came back with the same response: best soup experience, ever.

Several years later, I had mostly forgot about the heavenly Pumpkin & Pepper Chowder. Sugar Pumpkins have a very short season in south western Canada, and are a pain to locate when required.

Until today.

I was gabbing with my best friend, Anna, and she mentioned that she had made The Chowder for an extended family gathering over the weekend. It was a smash hit, and she is now required to  make it every Thanksgiving, lest she be disowned.

It really is that good, folks.

So, for your supping pleasure, here it is, in all of it’s original Chatelaine Glory: nom nom nom.
